Terms & Conditions

Salary Sacrifice Electric Vehicle Scheme
These Terms & Conditions explain how the evees salary sacrifice scheme works. By joining the scheme, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Definitions

In these Terms:
“evees” / “we” / “us” means evees, the provider of the salary sacrifice scheme
“Employer” means the company offering the scheme to its employees
“Employee” / “you” means the individual entering into the salary sacrifice agreement
“Vehicle” means the electric car provided under the scheme
“Agreement” means the salary sacrifice arrangement between you and your Employer

2. Overview of the Scheme

The evees salary sacrifice scheme allows you to exchange part of your gross salary for the use of an electric vehicle. Payments are deducted before Income Tax and National Insurance, reducing your taxable income.
Your Employer enters into a lease agreement for the vehicle, and you receive the benefit of using that vehicle for the agreed term.

3. Eligibility

To take part in the scheme, you must:
Be employed by a participating Employer
Earn above the National Minimum Wage after salary deductions
Hold a valid UK driving licence
Meet any additional criteria set by your Employer or insurer
Eligibility may vary depending on Employer policy.

4. Salary Sacrifice Agreement

By entering the scheme:
You agree to reduce your gross salary by a fixed monthly amount
The reduction will apply for the full term of the agreement
Your taxable income will be reduced accordingly
This agreement is a change to your employment contract and will remain in place for the agreed duration.

5. What Is Included

Your monthly payment typically includes:
Vehicle lease
Servicing and maintenance
Road tax
Breakdown cover
Tyres
Insurance (where applicable)
This creates a fixed monthly cost with fewer unexpected expenses.

6. Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) Tax

You will be required to pay Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax on the vehicle.
Electric vehicles currently benefit from significantly lower BiK rates compared to petrol and diesel vehicles, making them more tax-efficient.

7. Term of Agreement

Agreements usually run between 24 and 48 months
The term will be agreed before the vehicle is ordered
You are responsible for payments for the full duration of the agreement

8. Early Termination

If your employment ends or circumstances change, early termination may apply.
This may include:
Resignation
Dismissal
Redundancy
Long-term sickness
Some schemes include protection policies to reduce or cover early termination costs, but this depends on the specific agreement in place.

9. Vehicle Use

You agree to:
Use the vehicle responsibly and within legal requirements
Maintain valid insurance (if not included)
Follow mileage limits set out in your agreement
Return the vehicle in fair condition at the end of the term
Only authorised drivers may use the vehicle.

10. Costs Not Included

Unless stated otherwise, you are responsible for:
Charging costs (home or public)
Fines, penalties, and parking charges
Excess mileage charges
Damage beyond fair wear and tear

11. Delivery and Availability

Delivery times may vary depending on the vehicle selected
Delays can occur due to manufacturer or supply factors
evees will keep you informed throughout the process

12. Changes to Salary and Benefits

Salary sacrifice may affect:
Pension contributions
Mortgage or borrowing applications
Statutory payments (e.g. maternity or sick pay)
You should consider these impacts before entering the scheme.

13. End of Agreement

At the end of the agreement:
The vehicle must be returned
You may have the option to extend or take a new agreement
Ownership of the vehicle does not transfer to you

14. Employer Responsibilities

Your Employer:
Facilitates the scheme and salary deductions
Holds the lease agreement for the vehicle
May set additional rules or eligibility criteria

15. Liability

evees is not responsible for:
Changes to tax legislation
Personal financial outcomes resulting from participation
Delays caused by third-party suppliers
